materials: 4 TV sets

year: 1999

A 4 channel video installation created by Danae and Alexandra Stratou for D.A.ST. Arteam (Danae Stratou, Alexandra Stratou, Stella Konstantinidis) in the summer of 1999. Played on 4 TV sets (2 pairs) placed oposite each other. It was created for and shown as part of an exhibition entitled Video Show curated by a group of Greek artists. It took place in the widows of the electrical shops in the old commercial centre of Athens (on Dragatsaniou street), Greece.

Two pairs of eyes that belong to the participants in a dialogue, are closely recorded and displayed on two pairs of monitors. The pairs of monitors are positioned across from each other reenacting the space of the dialogue. They were positioned on two facing electrical shop windows, camouflaged between monitors showing usual TV programs, so that the passerby and the window-shopper would have to cross the dialogue space.
